New Communities
A place to post new communities all over Lemmy for discovery and promotion.
Rules
The rules for behavior are a straight carry over of Mastodon.World's rules. You can click the link but we've reposted them here in brief, as a guideline. We will continue to use the Mastodon.World rules as the master list. Over all, be nice to each other and remember this isn't a community built around debate. For the rules about formatting your posts, scroll down to number 2.
1. Follow the rules of Mastodon.world, which can be found here.
A. Provide an inclusive and supportive environment. This means if it isn't rulebreaking and we can't be supportive to them then we probably shouldn't engage.
B. No illegal content.
C. Use content warnings where appropriate. This means mark your submissions NSFW if need be.
D. No uncivil behavior. This includes, but is not limited to: Name Calling; Bullying; Trolling; Disruptive Commenting; or Personal Criticisms.
E. No Harrassment. As an example in relation to Transgender people this includes, deadnaming, misgendering, and promotion of conversion therapy. Similarly Misogyny, Misandry, and Racism are also banned here.
2. Include a community or instance title and description in your post title. - A following example of this would be New Communities - A place to post new communities or instances all over Lemmy for discovery and promotion.
3. Follow the formatting. - The formatting as included below is important for people getting universal links across Lemmy as easily as possible.
Formatting
Please include this following format in your post:
[link text](/c/[email protected])
This provides a link that should work across instances, but in some cases it won't
You should also include either:
or instance.com/c/community
FAQ:
Q: Why do I get a 404?
A: At least one user in an instance needs to search for a community before it gets fetched. Searching for the community will bring it into the instance and it will fetch a few of the most recent posts without comments. If a user is subscribed to a community, then all of the future posts and interactions are now in-sync.
Q: When I try to create a post, the circle just spins forever. Why is that?
A: This is a current known issue with large communities. Sometimes it does get posted, but just continues spinning, but sometimes it doesn't get posted and continues spinning. If it doesn't actually get posted, the best thing to do is try later. However, only some people seem to be having this problem at the moment.

Yay!
That does not seem to work.
You probably need to subscribe first.
I get a 404 when i click the link.
:-(
I was able to find it using a different app, and it allowed me to subscribe. However like mentioned above no posts are showing. I tried viewing via the web interface for my instance and still nothing appears. I can see two posts when I log in on my Fedia account.
I msg'd an admind at Fedia.io. Should be able to get this sorted shortly. Thank you all for your input and patience.
Hmm it works for me, although it’s not showing any posts.
I put up two posts yesterday, they should federate eventually. :-/
Huh, I can see only one post...
Jerry is working on it. There are 3 posts as of now. Three Cheers for Jerry!!
Someone from your instance probably subscribed but the feed didn't federate over yet. Or maybe there's just no posts.
Works for me
Yay! I'm just getting this up, so I'm glad it's working in some cases. I really have only the minimalist clues as to what I'm doing here. And am certainly open for suggestions. When I looked there was only on New Mexican city, Albuquerque on the lemmy-verse, so I seemed that someone should create a page for Santa Fe. LoL, we're building the Fediverse!! Hee Hee!
OP, feel free to use https://lemmy-federate.com/
Ooh, what's that... Nifty! I'm gonna try a few things...
When I submit [email protected] I get: "Instance is disabled. Please contact your admin." Only problem is, I created the magazine/community, but I'm not an admin. Suggestions?
I need to find an admin on Fedia.io, it seems. How do?
I'm working on it. fediseer is complaining that it can't communicate with fedia.io so trying to sort that out
LoL, that's my job beta till the bugs crawl out. :-D Thanks, friend!
Oh no I'm saddened to discover that kbin is almost gone 😢
I wonder what happened to the dev, no activity in long time , and his domain got squatted
Fedia is based on a fork or is completely different?

Couldn't find their original comment but here's one.
The developer has also told us he has gone through a divorce, moved into his own place, gotten a full time job and now had surgery.
Kbin was forked to Mbin which is community run. Kbin seems to have stopped development while Mbin continues. Most kbin sites have moved over to Mbin I think.
Not sure what's happened woth kbin.social though. Maybe its moving to Mbin? Still seems yo be running kbin currently judging by the landing page?
It doesn't look particularly healthy to me...
its been that way for 10 months now....
Longest "next few days" ever.
Mbin should be merged back into lemmy. It's a successful experiment and the microblogging portion is a killer app... But it'll never get the volume of subscribers to matter
It was never part of Lemmy. But we are compatible so why should they stop?
Lemmy doesn't support Mastodon thou does it?
I like having access to both via one app
You can't view microblogs unless they include a hashtag that corresponds to a Lemmy community. They can comment on any Lemmy post however. If you're not paying attention to the instance of each user you may not notice.
I don't know, it's just the instance I chose in a moment of need, from ignorance. From what little I know it appeared that MBin was a good place to stick. I started on Kbin, but it stopped working, so I moved on to MBin. Trying to find stability in this new world. LoL.
I did the same 10 months ago.
kbin was always down, so I moved community to mbin fedio.ai as well....
