Btw does anyone also have problems to create a post via browser in this community? I have to use liftoff on android, on pc (no matter of browser) it will stuck at the circle animation when clicking post.

Can I rant for a second about how silly it is to have "redacted" in official patch notes? That defeats the purpose of patch notes!

Sorry didn't get any notification from lemmy.... anyway if you're interested in the patchnotes take a look at the forum, this might give a hint about the new content: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/update-16-deployment-release-notes.618851/

This wasn't there this morning and it doesn't need a spoiler tag, but at least they know they're not using patch notes correctly haha

We appreciate the "air of mystery" in comments like this can be a frustration to many of you sometimes, however we do hope that an additional many of you will understand that mystery elements are what can truly make Elite Dangerous an intriguing place to be, especially with evolving narrative elements

What if it's new content they don't want to spoil?

Then put a spoiler warning at the top of the notes like everyone else. Or use spoiler tags.

This isn't a new problem for video games.

Patch notes are not supposed to be marketing newsletters; they're supposed to detail what changed in a patch. When they get all cutesy and say "teheehee, it's a secret" that means that the playerbase won't know if the new stuff, when they find it, is working as expected. Like if I sign on and my FC still scales up to 1000% of the galactic mean, I will know right away that something is wrong because the patch notes told me it should now go to 100x. If I encounter the new ships (or whatever) and they're constantly bashing into space stations, I won't know if that's expected or not-- because I wasn't told anything about them.
