Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards
Rules
Keep it ergo
Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)
i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²
¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid

Just checking - files/parts/build guide is not yet available, or did I miss it somewhere?
10 work has been merged. I've got a bit more docs work to do on the new optional bottom facing single color LEDs, I would skip those for now.
Just fyi - bottom plate Gerber's for FR4 shows a 404 for me...
Sorry about that. Fixed!
Let me double check the PCBA files... I didn't get the 10u protos assembled, but they should be fine.
Awesome, you deserve thx so much. I will try again soon as some of the components are not available, indeed. Would be nice to get it assembled fully.
Do remember that even with assembly on the bottom, you still need to solder the controller sockets, pogos, and battery connector.
Would you say 10u PCBs ready to order? Would order with jlcpcb assembly...
Yes. The PCB and pick and place files all look good. Does seem that JLC now doesn't have the threaded solder nuts in 2mm height for some reason, so you'd need to source those along w/ the hotswap socket, and any other parts they get grumpy about.
It's in a branch of the repo until I can address one or two minor issues, and some docs additions needed.
This is it - thx so much, let me know when you think it's ready and I am ready to build.
Looks great, and probably a better job soldering than I'd be able to do.
Looks very similar to the humla (barring the different MCU). Cool board!
Indeed! It was somewhat inevitable it was going to, but I still wanted to do it for the XIAO-ness of it.
I still would love to build it but jlcpcb shows these mounting holes as not available... any better idea than just trying again every week?
What kind of keymap do you use on here? I’m interested in learning a layout with less keys so I can have a travel board and lazy fingers 🙃
I'll post my personal keymap a bit later. It's mostly Callum style mod approach.
Here's a render of the keymap, you can see the file over at https://github.com/petejohanson/revxlp-config/blob/main/config/boards/shields/revxlp/revxlp.keymap
