Yeah this is my jam. The fully delulu view just doesn't have that ripple of darkness that I need for the hope to really really hit home.

Like there are bad things, and undeniable suckage, but we will work through whatever comes together.

Will this happen in some future or where do you see this now, like Trumpians blaming fires in California on DEI?

Sorry I don't understand your question. Will what happen in the future?

I don't actually know what the future holds, but I have my hopes.

The part with "we will work through it together"

I'm just pretty pessimistic at the moment...

So I have not been following the fires too closely, but thinking about this post your example sounds like pessimism of the intellect (knowledge that some, perhaps a lot, of people are brainwashed and stupid, ignoring root causes and causing further social damage).

Examples of optimism of the will could be knowing there's groups of people actively working to support people impacted by the fires - and indeed, there's always organizations, big and small, and individual people who help others when disasters strike. Some examples here, bonus points if people can share better ones (this was just a pull from a quick web search): https://www.them.us/story/mutual-aid-funds-la-fires

This is also the first I've heard hope coached this way, so I could be way off base.

Just too much things happen globally at the moment, that aren't really making me optimistic

But I also just had quite a shit year.

Will get better...

Snufkin is a wanderer who cannot be contained.

Ah, yes. Snufkin's ideologies are the best ones. I'm not surprised.
