Thieves is a favorite of mine to this day

My second favorite of their, right after Psalm 69. Jesus built my hotrod is my jam

In my opinion, their best album. Their first five albums were my favorites, and this one was peak. I’m biased though. After the mid-90’s I sorta parted ways with industrial music.

Including "With Sympathy"?

Burning Inside is my favourite Ministry song. This album also has Test which is in my opinion absolute crap. Still, the album is probably my favourite of theirs.

This album is all killer no filler... EXCEPT for Test, which imho isn't that bad but it's more of a b-side (i.e. something experimental).

Test is basically the first Revolting Cocks song.

Yeah, TBH I really haven't listened to it more than maybe, I dunno, twice in my entire life so it might not be quite as bad as I remember. I just recall thinking it sounded like a bunch of white guys in the 80's discovering rap for the first time. Kind of like Blondie's Rapture but neither charmingly dorky nor actually kind of funky like that song.

I remember buying this on cassette (from Hastings!) in the early 90's, popping it in the tape deck, and being absolutely FLOORED by Thieves as the opening track. Amazing album. Similar to another comment, I feel like this was their peak period, with the previous album (LoRaH) and following album (Psalm 69) also being strong albums. I still have this one in rotation, almost 35 years later (wow, that last part was painful to type). 🤘🏻 The "In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up" authorized live recording from this period is also great.

"burn, baby... burn!"

My first exposure to Ministry was seeing Just One Fix on Rage one night and being interested and confused simultaneously.

A little later, I was able to tape this off a relative and with a bit of effort, fucking loved it.

Now I reckon the run of The Mind…, Psalm 69 and Filth Pig is as strong as any three consecutive records I can think of.

Thieves is the first song I ever heard by ministry and is still one of my favourites. Rest of the album is pretty good. I like their later ones better. The bush trilogy was next level for me as a rebellious teen when it came out.

Fucking love Ministry and just about everything Al Jourgensen has done. Watched an awesome documentary about him, would recommend but I forget the name
