Hey fellow wanderers,

So what is your favourite class/build? I've a necro and a barb at level 75 on WT4 at the eternal realm also a rogue, druid and a sorcerer at 50 WT3 in season.

TBH I'm all over the place in terms of builds for the last 3.

Icy-veins and maxroll have some pretty solid builds but I just can't decide so I'm asking you: what's your favourite classes or builds so far?

For me it's the HotA Barb, it feels just right. Still looking for the ranged equivalent though.

Much smaller sample size here, but my first was a bear Druid, and playing as Cocaine Bear is a blast!

I started an archer Rogue with the season, and my potion clicking finger got sore. Rogue feels good when things fall into place, but I've died at least twice as many times in 10% of the time.

Yeah I noticed that too with rogues, most of the time they're really squishy but hey, they're rogues^^ I'm more and more tending to play a lightning druid. I wanna take a step back from melee.

I used the Barrage Rogue guide on maxroll.gg in the preseason and my survivability went waaaay up compared to what I was doing before following the guide. As long as there are mobs to kill, the only way I die is when CCed without cooldowns to break out.

A bear that ate a shit ton of cocaine. It's a VERY fictional movie that's bearly based on a true event.

Also, my nickname for Bear Druid. Because he's unstoppable!

I have a lv. 100 Sorc before SS1 with typical Ice lance build, it was OK.

Now I have a lv. 78 Rogue with Twisted Blades build that can just stand and tank the Butcher in NM and I'm very happy with it.

Got roped into Baldur's Gate though, might come back to level my rogue to 100 before season end.

Have fun playing Baldurs gate^^ kinda a little bit jealous but on the other hand, round based combat isn't mine^^

Thanks 😊👍

I'm still on my first class with sorc (56), and i can already say, there has to be a more fun game within one of the other classes. After the campaign ends I probably won't keep playing to find out though, tbh.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

I've only played a sorc so far and it's beginning to feel very underwhelming but I'm only at act4 ish right now.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Lvl 55 or so was the time my Arc Lash Sorc really started ramping up! But I respecced away from Crackling Energy. And with the coming patch Chain Lightning will be even stronger!

[–] Tolstoy 1 points 1 year ago

Do you follow a build guide? For me the arc sorcerer was fun to level but with increasing levels it stars to fall off... I loved to play this class in D3 especially with Tal rashas.

I'm also running a Necro right now that's around level 75, but in Season 1 not the eternal realm. At first, I wasn't enjoying it as much as my preseason Rogue because it felt much slower. But recently my build (Infinimist following the guide on maxroll.gg) really clicked with the right gear and affixes and now I am absolutely FLYING through NM dungeons.

My buddy complained yesterday because his Pulverize Druid couldn't keep up if we were in the same "lane" when clearing a dungeon.

With that being said, I can't imagine playing the build outside of Season 1. The Malignant Hearts that autocast Corpse skills and Decrepify just make the build sooo easy to play. They autocast 3 out of your 6 skills.

[–] Tolstoy 4 points 1 year ago

...you're really tempting me... I will try it when getting bored or reach 100^^

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Sorcerer, I do not know why, just cannot stop thinking about Sorc builds. Maybe because the skills sound like they should work to make something cool. Unfortunately the fine print negates most ideas. Rogue is most fun.

[–] Tolstoy 1 points 1 year ago

How's it with the last patch? I think i gonna try some builds for the sorcs since i'm burn out farming tempest roar for my druid.... i started with lvl 50, now at 73 and still no helm... Kinda curious to see some pretty builds in the next few days for the sorc or maybe even some new^^

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I've played all the classes (a couple to 70+, others to 50). My favourite so far has been Barbarian with Hammer of the Ancients smashing everything. Very satisfying and once you get fury sorted then it's just smash, smash, smash.

[–] Tolstoy 1 points 1 year ago

I know right, you can litterly feel the power behind each slam^^ Does any other Build you've played come anywhere near?

[–] Thadrax 1 points 1 year ago

once you get fury sorted

My barb is 55 and I'm still waiting for that to happen.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I played druid pre-season and started up a sorcerer for season 1. I have to say I preferred the druid thus far. Much more variety in gameplay and overall better survivability at every level? Just before S1 I scored a Mad Wolf's Glee and it was fantastic! He now moves almost as fast as a horse and his attack speed is so outrageous he barely slows down clawing through anything < elite.

[–] Tolstoy 3 points 1 year ago

Totally agree with the survivability ^^

Yeah I picked druid to play further, ATM playing a tornado till I get my hand on tempest roar to go full storm

[–] beefsack 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm having a blast with tornado Druid.

I played Sorc in first beta, Rogue in second, Necro in preseason and Druid for S1 and to be honest I've had a lot of fun with all of them. I'm looking forward to playing Barb in S2.

[–] Tolstoy 1 points 1 year ago

Lightning Storm Druid sound pretty fun but the tornados while leveling were fun too^^ There just too many options...

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Played druid preseason, sort of a trampleslide, enjoyed that very much, bear is tanky as hell and deals solid damage after a while.

Running necro for S1, had high hopes and still experimenting to find most fun playstyle, tried a bit of blood, bone and now testing shadow + minions, that seems promising! Love how packs melt away.

However, druid is clear so far, I guess I enjoy more 'in your face' style to necro's magic wand and spell casting.

[–] Thadrax 2 points 1 year ago

Bow rogue, always has been since D1 (except for D3, didn't really like the demon hunter).

Whirlwind barb is fun as well, but I don't really like that shouts seem to be essential and the "great with shouts, crap during cooldown" cycle.

[–] MajesticSloth 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Got a Druid to 100 before the season and a Rogue into the 70's with Barb and Sorc to 50. Barely played Necro as it has never been my type of class though played them all in D3.

I enjoy the Druid and Rogue the most and probably lean to the Druid because I like being a bit tanky since I'm not really that skilled. I have tried three different Druid builds overall and they have all been fun in their own way. I feel like the Rogue is similar as far as the build variety.

My season Druid is in the 70's. With the Aug 8th patch I may want to play Sorc as I always enjoy chain lightning type builds and that is getting some positive changes that may be worth trying. Originally planned to go with a Rogue next.

Anyway, I started the season with Lightning Storm after Pulverize before the season. I then at level 50 switched to the seasonal poison creeper landslide build. I should have just started with it since it is just a seasonal build. Plan is to get it to 100 and then start another class.

I think in future seasons I may focus on builds for classes that are only for the season or appear to be. But if I had to choose so far I really enjoy Druid the most with the Rogue a close second. Hoping the changes to Sorc and Barb elevate them as well.

[–] Tolstoy 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thank you very much for your detailed response^^ I'm kinda curious about the final patchnotes for the upcoming patch. The shown changes looking good but IMO the sorcerer still need a little bite more love, but maybe I'm wrong and missing something. Anyway thanks again and have a nice one

[–] MajesticSloth 2 points 1 year ago

I'm very wordy. Not very often that is appreciated! Thanks!

And yeah we'll see just how much things are improved but at least positive changes to make me want to try it. Where by level 50 with my previous Sorc I was done. Just wasn't fun. Was an ice shards build.

[–] raptir 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I've been leveling with Shred and Poison Creeper. Would you recommend switching over to Landslide?

[–] dwokimmortalus 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

At this point, landslide is just too reliable. You can start running it by level 15, and it morphs into one of the more powerful endgame builds (Subterranean Creeper). It's also shockingly easy to gear into. The terramote/creeper interaction gives you access to assured crits, and higher damage than you should realistically have at low level. Which is a shame since landslide is an incredibly boring playstyle.

Pulv/CocaineBear is also pretty easy to get into, and will perform decent even before you get the uniques. I dropped landslide for Pulv for leveling, but pulv does have a weakness in having awful single target.

[–] raptir 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Thanks, I'll check it out. Was there a guide you were following?

[–] MajesticSloth 1 points 1 year ago

Late to a response, but I agree. Getting the main aspect so early would have made elevating eith it great. Instead I had some learning curve with it by switching at level 50. It is fun. Less tanky than Pulverize was. Some of that may be some of the overall nerfs the game got though. But you end up with everything in your face since you want to pull everything towards you with your ultimate. Just timing is probably an issue for me as I said I'm not skilled.

But the build is fun and worth playing.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Summen necro no core just corpse explosion (no blight).

Lvl 72 doing nm dungeon lvl 21 after a few seconds I can start blowing things up. It's no high DMG build but I try as far as I can, for that old d2 feeling.
