Using Volvo's android without mobile internet (self.volvo)

Thinking about getting a Volvo car but seems like the navigation on the computer will require me to pay for the car's internet for it to work.

To enhance my own privacy, is there a way to mirror my phone's screen instead? Has anyone had any success with disabling the cellular network?

I drive an older car, but I attached a well fitting tablet to the dash and hot spot it from my phone to give me modern functionalities.

A friend of mine did this and it looks great. There are vehicle specific kits that make the whole process relatively simple.
