I don't really understand the "dogs are always good" thing. It takes a helluva lot of training, pain and sweating to make a dog listen to anything you say unless you have food in your hand.

replace "dogs" with "golden retrievers"

Having known golden retrievers, their point still stands. The difference is that goldens have achieved mastery in what I call toxic amicability. It's one of my favorite toxins, in fact.
