Amazingly, I read that whole article and still have absolutely no idea what Cyberpunk RED is.
Fantastic bit of journalism there.

Yeah, I've been getting sick of the journalists just assuming they're only getting to their own crowd who should automatically know what they're talking about.
In all honesty, I was being a bit unfair. It's a wordpress site, so it's probably a fan just nerding out to other fans about something they love.
Still though, a word to other nerds - it's good to put up signposts for the curious, that's how you draw them in.
What they neglected to explain was that Cyberpunk Red is the fourth, and latest, edition of the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG on which Cyberpunk 2077's world and game mechanics are based. This document they included in the game files is a rule book for that.
Thank you. I feel like that should have been a key bit of info, but what do I know?
E: words are hard.
What they also didn't explain is you get 82 Punk tokens, which you can use in reschooch your chumwang in Alfalfa.

The site seems to be focused on tabletop and board games, so I guess they assumed their target audience already knew what it meant.
That's a fair point I guess.
Cyberpunk RED is the pen & paper game. The most current version, anyway.
I was a GM for a long running RED game for awhile, it was a blast. And I got a few pieces of excellence from our tech along the way:
Applies to consoles too I wonder?
Unless your console has a file browser with an Extra Content folder in it, I'm gonna guess no.
However, the same rulebook is also available for free on Roll20.
