The fact that they're even willing to admit it in such large numbers suggests they don't see it as something to be ashamed of. .

What a fucked up view of women:

"In rural areas, when a boy wants to become a man, he may go to an enemy village and kill a pig to be accepted as an adult, while in the cities "women have replaced pigs".[12] Moses, who claimed to have raped more than 30 women himself, said, "And it is better if a boy kills her afterwards, there will be less problems with the police"."

That seems... problematic for tourism. And, well, absolutely everything else as well. Poor Papuan women.

Ah, Papua New Guinea, no surprises there. I had a co-worker who went there to work on contract as an engineer. He was driving to work one day in a convoy of vehicles when they were ambushed, he watched a work colleague get hacked to pieces in front of him, had to put the windscreen washers and wipers on while getting away to wash off the blood. Worst case of PTSD I've seen, it really messed him up unsurprisingly. Horrible, savage place.

Incidentally the is a TV documentary on PNG -Ross Kemp Extreme World which shows rather graphically just how horrific this place is, not just for women, but the regular day to day brutality. Not pleasant viewing and not recommended for kids, or the sensitive
