It was a pleasure to burn

69° is my hot temperature. If I get too hot, I turn it down to 65°. People who keep their thermostat at 80° are crazy!

Then again, I'm descended from Norwegians and covered in thick "fur" from head to toe, so I tend to be warm all year long. I'd rather wear layers to stay warm than shed layers to cool down. There's only so much you can remove before you're just stuck in the heat, but you can bury yourself in a room full of blankets and sweaters and jackets until you warm up.

I'm just cheap. 65 it is in the winter. Put on a jacket. 75 in the summer. Go outside and come back in, it'll feel refreshing.

I just turn off the thermostat in the winter, set the fridge to max, open the blinds when the sun is hitting the windows, and overclock the gaming PC. Doing those simple things, the house stays a comfortable 69-72°F the entire season. Usually that's way too cold for me, but with the humidifier set to 50%, it's actually quite comfortable. Unless you live in a place like Florida, a whole-home evaporative humidifier is a must-have.

Even if my partner and I were gaming 24/7 (we aren't) the pipes would freeze. My fridge is always set to max because, well, I like my things to be cold or frozen if they're supposed to be. I also have better things to do than run around opening blinds when the sun hits them, and closing them when a cloud passes by.

There are a lot more places that don't require a humidifier than Florida. Essentially any rainforest or jungle. I grew up in the PNW and we used dehumidifiers to keep things from molding.

Part welsh here, high 60s are also too hot for me. 65 is normal 60 is cold, 50 is really cold but tolerable. 40s is where I pussy out and turn up the heat.

Even though I'm also part Asian, I'm also pretty furry.

I used to live between several… I’d call them “frost queens” except two of them were guys…

During the winter they’d crank their thermostats up high enough that I could open the window in -20 weather and still maintain comfortable temps inside.

Landlord was an asshole about that, but my apartment was always 80-90 in winter with the thermostat off; so fuck him.
