Today, we took apart the ModRetro Chromatic: a new entry in the handheld gaming market that might remind you a bit of something from the past. The ModRetro Chromatic really does hit us hard in the nostalgias, bringing home that Christmas morning feeling. - ifixit

An Analogue Pocket is $20 more and an FPGBC is half the price. Ignore this garbage.

Friendly reminder that this company is co-founded by Palmer Luckey, who sold out Oculus and now creates autonomous military technology that is criticized by the ACLU and many other human rights organizations.

Make your own decisions, but stay informed! I’m very happy with my Analogue Pocket for $20 more than this.

Thanks for sharing! Reminds me of when I learned about sodastream…

Yep. For those considering a Sodastream who don’t want to support Israeli settlement, the Drinkmate is awesome! Even better than most Sodastreams, as you can carbonate things that are already flavored.

[–] ComradeMiao 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How are you able to do that?

I see sodastreams used all the time for nothing. I think it would be worth getting used and modding. Best 100$ mod ever! Good to know about that company tho!

The Drinkmate just has a different design that uses a carbonating adapter cap thingy. You don’t have to fizz plain water and add flavorings after. You can just fizz whatever you have directly.

I mean, I would certainly hope it’s not worse

Yeah, Gameboy was never exactly about setting a high bar
