This places Star Wars: Skeleton Crew ahead of every other Star Wars series with the exception of Andor, which also shares a 96% Certified Fresh Rating.

Huh... From the trailer I was under the impression it's some garbage kids show, like that terrible TWD spin-off.

It's definitely aimed at a younger audience, but it isn't a kids show. It's kids on an adventure, like the Goonies.

I mean this feel like that's different, but I'm willing to hear you out.

To me, at best, it's a kids show that isn't suitable for kids (like the mentioned TWD spin-off). I really don't see appeal in watching a group of kids going on some "adventures". That sounds mind numbingly boring, if not straight up obnoxious. It's rare for me to even be able to bear with child actors, let alone having to bear with the stupid antics of their child characters.

I tried watching that bad batch show but they stuck a kid in the main protagonist role and it was just lame as nuts, so sad

That had been my impression too. Might have to give it a watch now.

from the future with more episodes out.

i thought the same thing before it came out. i expected to hate it, but it's actually quite good. the kids feel like kids that are out of their depth and face genuinely harrowing and dangerous problems. them being and feeling like actual kids makes it feel that much worse when any of them get hurt or almost die. for the most part the adults in the series easily manipulate and handle them. they don't get to be heroes. at least so far.

there's a couple of big mysteries in it that keep stringing you along, dropping just enough hints at the larger story underneath as it goes. who is this mysterious force sensitive pirate that's clearly manipulating them? what the hell is the deal with at atin? where did that ship come from anyway? the latest episode genuinely had me on the edge of my seat and kind of hating the system that

episode 6created the augmented child that almost died as the augments failed.

I'd definitely agree that it's the only other star wars show that gets anywhere near as good as andor. it's a much lighter, more adventurous vibe that manages to avoid being about the Jedi or the sith. which is where I think the star wars universe shines.

So if Obiwan is 86 and Skeleton is 96, that makes it about 11% better than awful?

So the thing is, you're trying to compare apples to oranges using a numbered scale. TV just doesn't work that way.

A show is ultimately rated in a way that doesn't translate to another show.

It's a joke criticizing the rotten tomatoes rating system.
