What in the name of Sid & Marty Kroft is going on in that boat scene?

Were psychedelics really that common in the 60's? Lol. (I kid, I kid, some people just have some wacky imaginations, and I am grateful to their bizarreness).

Not directly inspired by (it came out the same year as Super Sentai, which is what Power Rangers is based on and what the action sequences are from), but definitely based on the same kinds of things that Super Sentai was inspired by.

Check out Ultraman and Kamen Rider. You'll definitely see why you're getting power ranger vibes.
