Hello folks!

I just found out that my PC from 2018 with its GTX 1080 is infact capable of an SLI upgrade. Now Needless to say thats a terrible Idea! Being well aware of that, I still wanna do it if not for no other reason then for Fun!

So I wanted to ask what are some pitfalls I should look out for here? Some things I should be aware of when taking on this frankly Silly Idea? Thanks!

It's not a supported tech anymore so games won't utilise both GPUs. They barely supported it when it was new...

I say do it!

No one said the PC was for gaming - for AI etc. it's actually useful!

Ha ha ha... I did this back in the day... good luck with the SLI profiles... they're the biggest pain.

Oh hey, I did that!

There's two problems I faced. One was I bought a used 1080 once I could afford the second one, and it was weirdly noisy (it also might be the one that broke first). Also you need a pretty hefty PSU. I forget how big I went... 1000? 1200? Anyway, other than that it rocked... like 7 years ago. Lol

I just built my wife a computer and ripped out my 1080 SLI and gave it to her. Both cards still going strong now.
