We’re all depending on California, especially for anything climate or environment related. Other states are not allowed to regulate our own environment in some cases, but can only choose federal or California rules. We need to continue having that choice

They should also consider creating networks of sub unions and commonwealths that pool different kinds of resources that are beyond the clutches of The Federal Government. Perhaps holding them in trusts which are obligated to share them as forms of mutual aid under specific rules and conditions.

Distributing parallel forms of government might be a way to keep Trump's power in check. If certain networks or interstate agreement/trusts/commonwealths get large enough, they might even develop internationally recognized travel documents, and welfare systems.

The point would be to try to remain stealthy though, and avoid conflicts or the appearance of competing with the Federal government. So all Federal obligations would still have to be met.

A new European Union might be a model to follow, it would just be...an American States Union.

...a distributed American States Union. DASU, rather than USA.

I find some of this funny. They can’t overrule federal law in many cases. So most of this won’t hold up in court.

The laws are dead, the court is a joke, and the convicted criminal is in charge. A bunch of other states are doing crimes already, and nobody really did anything.

It's so strange that suddenly liberals are suddenly in favor of autonomy for states.

It’s also funny how they are demanding a rebellion and insurrection.

Trump-proof until the US Army marches in.

Marches in? They’re already here. There are multiple significant bases of operation for the four branches in California. Not sure about Space Force.

Army doesn’t have that much in California. Fort Irwin is mainly a training base. When they base closures in the 80’s and 90’s California was hit really hard.

Just like Oregon doesn’t have much of an army presence. The only base I know of closed.

Most is the army is in the east coast and in the south.
