Secure

The Foundation secures anomalies with the goal of preventing them from falling into the hands of civilian or rival agencies, through extensive observation and surveillance and by acting to intercept such anomalies at the earliest opportunity.

Contain

The Foundation contains anomalies with the goal of preventing their influence or effects from spreading, by either relocating, concealing, or dismantling such anomalies or by suppressing or preventing public dissemination of knowledge thereof.

Protect

The Foundation protects humanity from the effects of such anomalies as well as the anomalies themselves until such time that they are either fully understood or new theories of science can be devised based on their properties and behavior. The Foundation may also neutralize or destroy anomalies as an option of last resort, if they are determined to be too dangerous to be contained.

Has anyone ever, yanno, just tried being its friend or give it therapy? No idea if it'd work, but testing X with SCP-682 is a running gag, wouldn't hurt to try some therapy. Or maybe that's part of the joke: the only way you could "neutralize" SCP-682 is by showing it empathy and compassion, but doing so is fundamentally incompatible with the SCP foundation.

They did test letting 999 play with it. SCP-682 did seem to be “happy” but then once 999 was removed it woke up from its nap and killed many personal. Also while 999 seemed to want to play with it again 682 said “That feculent little [unintelligible] can [DATA EXPUNGED] and die." However it may actually consider SCP-079 a “friend” as close to a friend you could be with 682

I feel like I recall D-class personnel trying stuff like that occasionally with other SCPs. But then they either somehow fail, the Foundation terminates them for safety or to gauge the reaction from the SCP, or [REDACTED] and human contact is no longer permissible.

So actually, yeah, what you said.

If I remember right SCP-682 hates most if not all biological life I wonder if he’d like it there

You can't just shove it in there, eventually its gonna find a way to come back and bring death along with it.

True I don’t imagine it would be content with having a world with no life.
