Owned by Rupert Murdoch, who has done more harm to the world than probably anyone who wasn’t an actual dictator, so unsurprising.
Who says everything that's ever been produced and being created right now (including this comment) isn't just being mass collected and dumped into a LLM right now?

It's still a dick move, because Harper Collins has a huge amount of oligopoly power. Any supposed concession is likely of no real use to any authors who rely on the big companies to get published.
