I bet that helps military recruiting (already hurting).

It's baffling to me that we're watching an open hostile takeover by a petulant trust fund baby, and allowing it to happen.

Barring a violent revolt, there's really no acceptable way to deny a transition of power after the electorate has voted for it, even when the president-elect is clearly this malicious.

Allowing? We voted for it to happen. This is literally what 50% of the country wants.

Over 50% of those who voted. ~30℅ of the electorate, less than 25% of citizens. Don't give him more than he's earned.

Alternative wording:

30% of the electorate is actively pro-trump, 30 % of the electorate is actively anti-trump, 40 % doesn't give enough of a shit either way to get off their couch and vote.

Alternative alternative wording:

70 % of the electorate is pro-trump or ambivalent.

See, it's very easy to speak for non-voters. That's why anyone with half a brain discards their opinion entirely. So we have to assume 52 % of American voters support Trump.

I didn't literally mean "us". I mean the people tasked with protecting our government, and enforcing our laws.

Those are the people who specifically allowed the orange shitstain to get to this point.

Yeah, but it's baffling why they would. It's one thing to enable people who increase their personal wealth and power, but we're seeing the beginnings of a complete fascist takeover. There's no world where they're safe if trump puts himself in a position where he can punish anyone with impunity, because he views even the smallest slights as a declaration of war. Everyone will eventually find themselves on the wrong side of that list. We've seen it throughout history.

The people in power know how easy it is to manipulate him. And they’re going to use that to get richer and enrich their buddies.

I suspect they also may be banking on dementia to get rid of him if necessary. Though Trump seems to have gone with the Vance doctrine to try and prevent that.
