Armed peaceful protests with the threat of violence are the only thing that will actually bring any change within a reasonable persons lifetime.
This is because armed protests scare cops and politicians due to the fact that there is no one-sided power monopoly. Power is the only thing those retards understand.
Everything else is simply useless finger waggling.

In order to accomplish actual resistance, there needs to be at least some minimal organization, because individuals are far less likely to do anything meaningful on their own. The article bears this out; the real resistance actions it praises required a lot of people. And many of those people needed to be willing to risk arrest and imprisonment.
Pay attention to what's going on around you. Maybe you're not someone who is able to risk arrest and imprisonment, but maybe you're someone who could help people who are. There are things you can do right now to be ready for action when the time comes. I know I sound like a broken record by now, but prepare to resist.
Bring back cop watching
One major problem here is the lack of community. It was easier to get in-person events organized when the default was to do things in person. #resistance isn't just more common because people aren't willing to be in person, but because it's not as easy to get involved.
As far as actual political groups are concerned, a lot of them have very little online presence, or their information is only available through something like Facebook where you need an account to view it. Those that are more available frequently only hold their meetings online, and many make it difficult to find how to get involved because you have to navigate through all their requests for donations to find there's very little else available.
But that's just my experience over the last few years. I imagine it'll get a lot worse when these groups aren't legally allowed to exist.
By meeting in person you're also putting yourself at risk. I don't even feel safe putting political signs in my yard anymore.
Taking things online only gives the illusion of safety - especially in places like Facebook. If 'they' really want you, your home address is only a subpoena or two away.
"They" have volunteer brown shirts probably living on my street. It's them I'm worried about.
Young internet leftists will have to prove that they can fight irl, liberals certainly won't offer any real resistance.
