From the outside this seemed messed up to all hell and clear political silencing.

It sounded to me like a freak out when 100+ lawyers get in touch to tell you they are super unhappy with the temp host you have filling in for five days and she's only got two days to go.

In the moment, it sounds much easier to just pay her out and drop her. I don't think Auntie was really too upset with Antoinette, they just wanted to avoid a lawsuit.

They got one anyway, and it's the lawsuit they deserve. There was a time where the ABC would have told those angry people to pound sand.

Nah the abc is used to campaigns of legal pressure. They didn't freak out, they did this calculus:
