I’m trying to get back into crumpets and wanted some inspiration. What is your favourite crumpet topping? preferably vegetarian.

Butter and marmite. Just make sure to use two knives, unless you're an animal.

Hmm I think you just invented Marmite Butter, this needs to be a thing.

Butter and a nice strawberry jam is usually my go-to. Melted cheese under the grill if I want something savoury. Peanut butter is also nice.

Butter and jam is my topic of choice as well, but I miss my mom’s homemade jam :(

Peanut butter (sometimes with honey), Jam, Nutella, Beans & cheese,

Not all together of course, unless you like to live life on the edge!

beans and cheese is superior because the crumpet soaks up the bean juice

Nobody for butter and jam? Or a bit of honey? I likes 'em sweet usually. I sometimes go for mustard and cheese, then grilled.

Surely salted butter is the only right answer here?

Butter and Marmite. Other toppings are nice, but whenever I have them I always feel it was a bit of a wasted crumpet because it's not butter and Marmite.

This is the correct answer.

I'm going with the concensus of butter, marmite and cheese. But, if available, use the chilli marmite (dynamite) to make it top drawer.

Was recently in Sweden. A swede recommended the combo of cheese and English marmalade on toast.

Sounds deeply weird but it's surprisingly nice. Can confirm it also works as a crumpet topping.

I'm slightly confused by the phrase "get back into crumpets" - you fell out of love with them? That's like falling out of love with breathing!

I made a mini pizza on one the other day. Was good.

Butter, marmite, cheese on top. Then pop it under the grill.

Truffle infused olive oil - if you're feeling decadent.

Honey - if you want to be sticky.
