I've been looking for a decent colour-face watch that will look good as a more "dressy" watch for special occasions. It'll be my second big watch purchase.

This one caught my eye as, being from Nottinghamshire myself, I like the design and the fact that it pays subtle homage to the city.

Obviously it's a new microbrand, but it's got some good reviews (see here for example) and some nice specs - a Miyota 9039 Automatic movement and a double-dome sapphire crystal.

What do you guys think? Any words of caution/encouragement?

I, like a few other people apparently, liked the ideas in the book but was really turned off by the clunky dialogue. Not sure if it was a translation thing, a culture thing or a stylistic choice.

As a result I'll probably check it out because I didn't love the book so much I'd be worried they'll commit sacrilege with the TV show :)

I fell out of love with smart watches and decided to get a nice mechanical.

This came with a black Milanese strap which I swap out for a black sailcloth for regular use.

I've got the bug now: I want a quartz chronograph (love the Tissot PRC200), a colour face watch for occasions (I'm eyeing up the Sherwood Commander as it's a microbrand local to me) and I'd love a nice Farer watch as well.

It's gonna take time to save for all that though and I'll likely change my mind along the way.

Was recently in Sweden. A swede recommended the combo of cheese and English marmalade on toast.

Sounds deeply weird but it's surprisingly nice. Can confirm it also works as a crumpet topping.
