Great to see Lewis on pole!

Hopefully Max being sandwiched between the McLarens and Lewis will result in some good action--at least for the opening stage of the race.

It's lights out and away we go! Hamilton gets off to a fantastic start, maintaining his lead as we enter turn one aaaaaaaand it's gone!

Cue 70 laps of Max on pole

For real though, great result for Lewis today, and I sincerely hope he can hold-out.

It felt good to hear Hamilton so excited again. And I'm thrilled to see how close things are right now.

that was one of the most enjoyable quails of the year for me

are teams finally catching up to red bull?

[–] bwoah 11 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

I think it just looks that way because Redbull hasn't figured out yet how to properly set the cars up after the new updates. Max was complaining about the car in the interviews but said that the upgrades are working.

I hope I'm wrong, but we'll see in the coming races

They can't change the set up going into the race though.

Yeah sorry. I meant coming races. Corrected my mistake

Also glad to see Lewis on top, and Lando right up there again.

Likewise good to see Dan do about as well as one could ask for with his car in those conditions.

Still not an amazing showing, but Perez making Q3 and breaking that drought is also good to see after such a terrible Friday.

I'd say 9th in that car and only 4 places above Danny Ric isn't great for Checo.

He was probably playing it safe the whole quali.

Really surprised by the performance of McLaren and Alfa Romeo. Norris himself said that he didn't expect the car to perform better than Silverstone, so whatever recipe the team has been making in the kitchen is obviously working, good on them.

Lewis, happy to see him to finally score pole position, did I see Angela Cullen back in the garage???

Max will probably win but I sense that more effort will be required tomorrow. McLaren boys will have great fun. It would be nice to see Oscar score a podium. Alfa duo will probably fall behind as the race progress tomorrow. Perez will have to fight from the back.. again. Ferrari is being Ferrari. Nico though, what a drive. I'd love to see him drive for a better team, AM? AR? Given the right car, I'm sure he'll get a podium. Yuki was visibly unhappy with his performance, thata understandable. I'm sure AT is pleased with their decision in acquiring DR.

There's a lot to look forward to tomorrow team!

Genuinely liked the format today.

WOW, 0.003 seconds!? GET IN THERE LEWIS! So happy to see him on pole!

He was over .1 up earlier in the lap; his 3rd sector wasn't his best. Wonder if he used up the tires or if there was more left in it.

Yeaahh he had quite the understeer and wiggle coming out of the penultimate corner so probably tyres

What happened to Russell? Clearly the Merc has pace, did he cock up?

[–] CoolBeance 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Traffic prevented him from getting a good run out of turn 14 before his flying lap which cost him sector 1

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Pretty good recovery for him today though
