Its even worse when you do the thing the guide says to do, which is what you also tried, but it turns out the quest is just bugged out.

I'm 41 and video game guides/walkthroughs have been my mom for roughly 35 years. My dad is mods and used to be cheat codes.
I'm a long time enthusiastic but incompetent gamer, is what I'm getting at 😁
RIP text based tutorials from gamefaqs: We all miss you.
I wrote those back then. And game reviews.
A hero walks among us!
I had that with Outer Wilds.
Tried what I thought would work. Didn't for some reason. Spent the next three hours trying something else.
Was annoyed to have to look anything up for the game (best played completely blind), only to see exactly what I did the first time. Still no idea why it didn't work.
This is me 🙁 So many times I get stuck in a game and I don't like looking at walkthroughs but if I think I've tried everything I will. Every time it's either something I've already tried and didn't work, or I've completely missed a path to a new area somehow.
I hate this lol, the guide is no help because it just says to do the thing and it always turns out I'm just blind and missed a path because I habitually turn left instead of right.
