Technically this is anti-education, but clearly it's very relevant. And very fucked up. Kids are gonna be kids yo, when has a finger gun ever hurt anyone?

The worst authoritarians infect the bureaucracies of school systems, ptas are king shit of them all
A friend of mine is a teacher. Some psycho kid decided to bring to school a realistic fake gun, pulled it out, and while my friend was looking away, he pointed it at her head. He then says her name, and when my friend turns around to see him, he goes “bang.” My friend was traumatized, and is still in psychotherapy a year and a half later. The school didn’t take the matter seriously, and everyone goes “well at least it wasn’t a real gun lol.” And “get over it, it wasn’t real.” But that’s not the point. This is a place where nothing like that should ever happen, and knowing the daily occurrences at schools in the U.S. of course this will all have a big weight on it all. But it was easier not to do anything about it. It was the perfect opportunity to nip it in the bud and make a good example… but no. The school and school district left my friend high and dry. My friend pretending to be okay until she wasn’t.
Several months later, a cool kid did the finger guns to her. Not meaning to be a dick at all, btw. But this made my friend break down.
All this to say, you never know the motivations behind something like this. Guns are a real problem in the states, and very few are taking it with the seriousness it deserves. And I think what this principal did was the right thing. Don’t fuck around with that shit.
They didn't use a toy gun though, just a finger gun. You never played Cops and Robbers or Cowboys and Indians when you were a kid? Might as well ban pointing at things with your index finger, because it resembles a finger gun.
It's ridiculous really.
The amount of times this happened to people I knew growing up was insane
