How about that for a plot twist - the Google Pixel Pro now comes in a compact size!

This makes no sense. The 7a had nearly identicle dimensions. This is literally in no way a departure from any sort of norm created by Google.

I really hate Phone marketing. It's 99% bullshit these days.

"Compact" is a bit of a stretch. But the size of the Pixel 9 and 9 Pro (non-XL) is pretty nice. I currently have a 7 Pro and while the "screen real estate" is nice, it's really on the upper end of what I'm willing to use. (Both in terms of size and weight) I bought my mom a Pixel 8 recently and I really liked the form factor when I set up the phone. It's large enough to fit everything on the screen but small enough to use comfortably. Since I really want a telephoto lens the non-XL Pro version seems like it's made for me. πŸ˜„

Me too! I initially I wanted to wait for the (Pixel X?) for the TSMC based processor.

but since the Pixel 9 brought QOL improvements like the Ultra sonic finger print, improved Telephoto Autofocus and smaller Pixel Pro that can be used in one hand. Top that with $625 credit and $200 BB giftcard. I couldn't hold anymore and gave in :)

Fair enough if you're getting that much off the phone, hope it's a good one 🀞I can't hack the iPhone-like design so am glad I went for the Xperia 1 VI

The headline kind of reads like Google made a Pixel 9 Pro Mini, which would be awesome. Please do that Google.

This "compact" phone is significantly bigger than my Galaxy S23, which bills itself as a totally normal phone

If you have a pixel 8, are you gonna upgrade?

I got a 7 pro that google will give me $540 for trading in if I pre-order. But I'm tempted to wait till closer to the holidays to see if a better sale comes along.

I had the P8P and i'm getting the smaller P9P. see my previous comment for more details but basically I went with the Bestbuy pre order because they were giving away $200 giftcard in top of the $625 trade in credit.
