I had forgotten until I watched the most recent Technology Connections video. he mentioned them in passing and I was like damn he's right
for me, I'd actually been going around misspelling it my entire life.
I was taught it was pronounced fernel.

In Halifax the Maritime museum of the Atlantic has one on display if you are ever in the area. Honestly there is way cooler stuff in that museum then this.
