I started a website called OpenSourcely to do exactly this.
It aggregates news, projects, and announcements related to open source.
I'm always on the lookout for new RSS feeds and outlets to add to it, so if anyone has any, feel free to send them my way.
Cool. I'll add it to my RSS reader
@[email protected] like their content, but pity it is only really headers. There is no full text content.
Correct, and most lead to pay walled sites like Medium.
Yeah, it's only an aggregator that then points you to the original content. For legal reasons, I don't think OpenSourcely would be able to host the original content natively.
I check Phoronix often, and have some blogs in an RSS reader.
I have Phoronix in my RSS plus blogs.
I don't really want Phoronix in my RSS, because they post so many articles every day and it would just clog everything up. I just check them once a day or so and read the interesting articles.
I prefer to do it via podcasts myself. The JupiterBroadcasting family have a bunch of variety to choose from in terms of what you like.
Changelog media is another good source to complement this rec. Longer form, as opposed to breaking news, conversations about many OSS related (and software development in general) topics. Some of their now defunct programs like Request For Commits were some of my favorites.
@[email protected] I have some RSS feeds but everything is read right now I'm not sure if these are all full text content: https://itsfoss.com/rss/ https://www.linuxtoday.com/feed/ https://opensource.com/feed https://www.zdnet.com/blog/open-source/rss.xml
I use Full Text RSS to pull in the full content into FreshRSS
