YOB IS LOVE. YOB IS LIFE.

Love this band, but I don't really know how to classify them. Metallum says "Stoner/Doom," Riffipedia says "Doom/Sludge/Prog metal," but neither really fits, IMHO.

What do you think?

I had a coworker that was friends with these guys. Really cool band, whatever genre you want to call them.

My feelings exactly.

And while I don't know much about the rest of the band, Mike Scheidt seems like a really cool dude (at least after watching him go through rig breakdowns and a bunch of interviews on YouTube), so it's cool to hear that someone knows them personally without also hearing that there's a bunch of nasty BS associated.

Happy to spread the good word. These guys are a fucking treasure and they just keep getting better. All their albums are great, but the best one IMHO is Our Raw Heart. Listen from front to back for a real treat.
