I love my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pros. I think they meet all your requirements and they’re under budget.

There is an 80 ohm version and a 250 ohm version. Make sure to get the 80 ohm if you don't want to use a dac.
But seconding these. I have some 80 ohm ones and use a Sound Blaster Play!3 usb dac I got for $25, and I think they sound great. Smore importantly for my use, they are very comfortable to wear for long periods while wearing glasses.
Ah, good to know, thanks. Good to know the thing about the glasses too, I'll definitely consider these
So comfy ☺️
There is also a 32 ohm version that has “leatherette” padded cups which may be fine but sounds sweaty and uncomfortable to me.
I actually got the 250 ohm version and haven’t had any issues using them without a DAC although I’ve only used them with my computers; never mobile devices. I think maybe the 80s were out of stock? I bought them at the height of COVID.
That's super good to know the 250s also work without a dac! I was worried so I opted for the 80s, but I just use them for gaming mostly
Thanks! I'll definitely check those out
I was going to mention the Sennheiser ones since they're closer in form factor to what you're used to, but you already stated that they don't match your preference. AKG perhaps then? The band on some models can be tight and press the cans over the ears more which is not the most comfortable at the beginning, but over time I've come to appreciate that they don't wiggle around, and actually prefer them nowadays for longer sessions.
Interesting, good to know. Thanks!
I would check out Beyerdynamics if you haven't.
