I think you can disable NSFW in your user settings - unless the communities you mentioned don't tag their posts properly
Off My Chest
RULES:
I am looking for mods!
1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.
2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)
3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.
4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.
5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.
6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.
Yee, I did this first thing. And you're right about how a lot of people don't tag anything properly-- a battle we can never win.
Once I blocked NSFW in my profile I haven't had a problem. I sort by local/new though. Where are you seeing it?
What are you talking about? I literally said I turned off NSFW first thing. I didn't say anything about having seen NSFW myself.
You are correct but i found it better to just go ahead and start blocking communities. Yeah I can curate my content with it but this is also venting about the proliferation of pornography and about the lack of spaces that are explicitly anti-porn but I realize I am the minority
Go to profile > settings > uncheck "show nsfw post"
Yes that is true but many people post violent or jokes with the nsfw tag enabled
Sex is an important thing for the human race. There’s a reason prostitution is stereotypically considered the oldest profession.
It’s just an inevitable thing in any space that allows any legal user posted content. Only thing you can do is filter and move on.
