Abandoned Engineering , not my usual thing but I like to watch at breakfast time. Not everything is built by the "good guys" but the enthusiasm for it all is great.

A friendly place to chat.
No politics please. Don't be a dick.
Ooo. That looks interesting, and might help fill the r/abandonedporn hole in my life (minus reposts and karma bots).
I do recommend it. Every episode has a topic and then a few different examples so it's easy to stop and start like I do.
Kelenfold Power Station is a favourite so far with how extravagant it looks.
I'm currently going through the Clone Wars series on Disney+ to try and prepare for the Ahsoka series that's out soon.
The only problem is that I've found out that I also need to watch Star Wars Rebels. So I'm going to be all Star Wars'd out soon. 😂
Also watching Home Improvement on Disney+ too, which is a show I used to love when I was a kid and it's still funny now.
I recently watched Clone Wars, not for Ashoka series though. Thought it was ok, but the last two season and half were incredible. The last three episode arc of the season five was amazing.
Don't think I'll watch Rebels though. Like you, feeling a little Star Warsd out.
I've been enjoying it, apart from the Jar Jar Binks episodes anyway. I thought it was going to be a bit too kid-friendly, but it's actually not. And the stories get more mature as the seasons progress.
I hated droid episodes the most. Wait until you get to mid way season five and you start to wonder "how is this only PG rating?"
I've been enjoying Beef on netflix, the premise starts off absurd, but as the episodes go on, you really get a feel for how an unhappy life can lead to a lot of other things.
Started watching Secret Invasion and Hijack Finding Secret Invasion a bit meh, it's a bit They Live/V so not really grabbing me, Hijack on the other hand is quite good, although I keep waiting for Neil Maskell to suddenly ask "where is Jessica Hyde?"
Me and my SO have unironically started watching and enjoying the Quantum Leap reboot. But we're only two episodes in so it could go either way. No spoilers!
Music wise I've been enjoying the "1980s Bubblegum" retrospective LP by Aussie jangle pop pioneers The Particles. Went through to Glasgow at the weekend and picked up a copy from Monorail Records who have an exclusive coloured vinyl.
I didn't even know there WAS a reboot! How long ago was that? Might have to add this to our list.
Just last year maybe? It's on Paramount+. There is a almost full length old style season of 18 episodes. No-one has said "oh boy" yet, which is disappointing.
Morning folks. Working my way through Legion. Dunno why I slept on this show for so long - it’s brilliant!
Also been watching Righteous Gemstones with my daughters and been introducing them to other Danny McBride shows like vice principals and eastbound and down. They love it!
We've watched the first two seasons of Legion, but stalled on the final episode of S2 for the longest time because found it pretty hard going. Not that it wasn't watchable, just that it was a bit of a downer. Went back and finished it a few months back, and must get started on S3. Love the soundtrack!
That’s weird - it’s where I’m at just now and I’ve actually paused it to get some work done because it was so fucking grim!
The soundtrack is brilliant as well, been switching between that and The Bear soundtrack playlists on Spotify all week.
Right, well, that's good to know it wasn't just us that thought that. We were watching S2 during the pandemic and I wasn't sure if it was because of the show, or the world!
We got through another two films from my friends "horror films you should watch" list. And after the success of last week's two choices we went in with high hopes, that were sadly dashed a little bit.
Satanic Panic is a comedy-horror starring Rebecca Romjin's boobs. It's got some genuinely funny moments but mostly it fell a bit flat for us. I did like the main character a lot though!
Alien Code is actually more of a scifi thing, very low budget, mostly filmed in a flat, you know the type of thing. Actually quite enjoyed it for the most part although it started to drag on a bit towards the end.
Music-wise I'm struggling. Does anyone who uses Spotify know how to make it suggest any new music to me whatsoever? Every single day it gives me the same choice of the same playlists with the same songs from the same bands. Do I need to be searching out and adding more stuff to my library to kick-start the algorithm or what? Google Music used to recommend me new stuff all the time, miss you bby.
Anyway today I'm planning to listen to a combo of The Decemberists and Shinedown so if anyone has suggestions for other bands I might like, go for it!
In an act of shameless self-promotion, I have a long stagnant music podcast that I've recently resurrected. It's generally pretty obscure stuff, a lot of self released tracks. Mostly recent releases. Not familiar with Shinedown but a big fan of The Decemberists, so there may be something in there you might like. The downside... and to be honest it's a big one... is that you need to listen to me waffle on. I guess that's why skip forward buttons were invented.
Consider me intrigued! Obscure is fine by me, cheers for this.
A further comment. First, enjoying this a lot so thanks for sharing, it's like reliving all your updates from the daily threads recently except with music too haha. Second, while the mods are apparently all AWOL we should totally do a "UKCasual Talent Show" thread where we all get to share our cool stuff we make and do 🧐
Thank you! And yes, once upon a time I used to make notes before I recorded these, but then I realised I could just plunder my social media posts to find something to talk about!
More people need to watch Dead Loch on Amazon . Good comedy cop drama.
A lot of early reviews said it was good but complained about one character. That one character was written to be annoying but get more bearable throughout the story. The series as a whole was a great traditional murder mystery with twists, and some comedy to go with it.
Currently just started Will Trent. Only watched one episode but seems to fill a gap created by Monk, Psych, Castle, Lie to Me.
Also binge re watching Silicon Valley. Such a funny show.
Watched Tragedy of Macbeth, beautifully shot but ye olde dialogue.
Quite like Porridge Radio considering most of my music is from the previous decades
