I had a friend who lived on Long Island and worked in Manhattan.

He told me that when his job started at 6 am he had to get up at 4 am to make sure he got to the city by 5:30 am.

When they changed his start time to 8 am, he had to get up by 4:30 am.

A 3.5 hr commute is not acceptable for any life. Also, a 4am wakeup is horrible too. What could your friend possibly need so bad in New York?

A job.

I know folks who live in Pennsylvania and commute to the city.

I just hope it was one of those high paying, once in a lifetime jobs.

Civil service job with a 25 year pension and test based promotions. Strong Union benefits.

Serves them right! What do you expect when an entire Metropolitan region sells their soul for Tom Brady.

I think maybe Tom Brady, and the other Boston sports stars who also beat your teams, encouraged more people to live here. Or maybe it was the ritual sacrifices I made to the Traffic Demon Lord of Sports Betting.
