Guess there is an argument to be made for the increased power and torque being a bad thing, together with the extra weight of battery packs EV's do cause a lot more wear and tear of the road surface. But I highly doubt it offsets the pollution created by ICE's.

A UK-centric Electric Vehicles community, where discussion/news of the wider European continent is welcome.
All discussion of EVs (and hybrids for the moment), charging networks, etc, welcome!
No USA/Americas news unless it is relevant to the UK/Europe - most of the existing EV communities on Lemmy are awash with US discussion, please use one of those. US news and discussion will be removed.

Not mention of the near 10x price difference in cost per mile?
Assume 3 miles per kWh
kWh = 7.5p night rate (Octopus EV night rate)
EV Cost per mile = 7.5p/3 = 2.5p per mile
Assume 30 mpg
Assume £1.50 per litre
There is 4.54609 litres per gallon.
So 4.54609 * £1.50 = £6.82 per gallon.
ICE Cost per mile = 682p/30 = 23p per mile
