I got my degree right in the middle of the pandemic and moved to a new city to start working overnights at a hospital, so I hadn't spent enough time exploring the area. I later found out I'm next to "The Murder Exxon." Great. Moving soon.

Do gas stations double as convenience stores in USA? I ask as an european because here, snacks at gas stations usually carry a hefty markup in price and usually we go to minimarkets.

Yeah, most of them do double duty with a shop inside. The snacks and drinks usually have a high markup, but there aren't a lot of free-standing minimarkets except for a few 7-11s.

Then there's Wawa, which is the weird outlier. :) I think they sell gas as a side business. The inside is all about getting food.

Wawa, Sheetz, Buc-cee's, and QT, all kinda fill that roll. Grab and go restaurant with a gas station out front.

Yeah often they are "minimarkets", as they are the only building around geared for consumers
