Cyberpunk and moon just brings me PTSD from the anime.

You just crushed my soul again.
Was the show that bad?
No, it was really good. Soul-crushingly so.
Edit: just rewatched the first episode, not as bad as I remember. Where was the line I meantioned below? I swear it was there when I watched the show the first time.
I stopped watching after the main character said they were on the gang banger highway and then they got shot up by gang bangers.
Well, it is very distinct from the usual Japanese anime. I'd say go watch it with the mindset of the usual western action movie just with anime style.

It’s not littered with pedophilia?
You know that's not the majority of anime, right?

I only saw the first episode, but it felt like a standard post-2010 Trigger anime to me.
I mean, it won anime of the year in 2023, and best English VA performance too. The story is flat out phenomenal. You're doing yourself a disservice by not giving it a fair chance.

I watched most of My Hero Acidemia and Hunter X Hunter, and I don't see the appeal. The Cyberpunk pilot, to me, felt ungrounded. The mc hacking with ease appeals more to a power fantasy rather than a reflection of any meaningful character ability. And the dialogue was painfully on the nose, the MC warning about highway bandits 10 seconds before being attacked made me think that they never wrote a second draft of the script.
I'll watch if someday, and I appreciate your enjoyment of the show, but I just don't see what others see in it, from the pilot.
You’re misusing the term pilot. A pilot is a one off episode produced for the sole reason of garnering interest and securing funding for a longer run of a show. Cyberpunk didn’t have a pilot. You just didn’t like the first episode, which is fine, but most people that watch the show come to the same conclusion, it was indeed phenomenal.
I rewatched the first episode a few minutes ago. It's not as bad as I remember haha. I still take issues with the arbitary power levels.
That’s because you don’t have the full story would be my guess.
It's the sort of good that gives your feelings a mighty kick in the nards
It's not bad but it's not that good either. More like middle of the road but it's based on a popular IP so people hype it up.
Ootl, which one?
Is there another anime directly relevant to Cyberpunk other than Edgerunners?
Well, i didn't know that one. Thanks!
I normally dislike anime but I highly recommend edgerunners, it's really good.
I was thinking I missed a new release, haha.
I would say that the first 6 episodes were really good, and the last 4 are just okay; they are kinda just rushed.
1-6 could've been one season, and they should've done a 6 episode season 2 to give the post-time-skip story more time to breath.
That would have been a cool reference to Necromancer, pointing to Freeside and Zion imo.
