8.20pm, Channel 46 June 2024 marks 80 years since D-day, when 156,000 allied soldiers landed on the beaches of Normandy and embarked on a campaign that would herald the beginning of the end of the second world war in Europe. This documentary pays tribute to them with a focus on the photographers and film-makers who captured remarkable footage of the heroic efforts during the fateful summer days that followed.
