It makes sense. He's not stellar but OK. He brings Chinese sponsors and he's not a rookie ... both things Gene Haas likes.

I really like Zhou. As you say, he's not top tier but he doesn't half put a shift in, and some of his performances have made Bottas look a bit silly.
I fear he'll forever be a midfielder but certainly proven himself worthy of a drive.
*Haas signs Zhou.*
*China invades Taiwan.*
Gene Haas: "Not again!"
They are quoting racingnews365 here, which uses even stronger language in saying that "Magnussen will likely lose his seat for 2025".
I thought they are loosing hulk and zhou would replace him? Or did i miss them signing some one already?
Ollie Bearman is understood to be a relatively safe bet for Hulk's seat, though no official announcement on that yet
Oh right i remember that being the case. Makes sense. I guess hass has to take on Ollie (since he is Ferrari driver), and i wounder if they hope to get more sponsor funding from zhou than Mag or just think Zhou would be better/more consistent? Mag has not been performing well, especially compared to Hulk.
