The Menkent line has been established.

Helldivers have valiantly defended Lesath and Menkent for days, and for the time being, have halted the main advance of the Automaton assault. SEAF and civilian laborers are hard at work fortifying these planets against further incursion, and forward operations have been set up on Vernen Wells to support nearby defensive operations in the sector.

However, the Automaton war machine refuses to relent, and they are now attempting to circumvent the Helldiver defenses by wrestling full control of the path to the west via the planet Marfark. It has come to our attention that the bot fabricators, also known as "Factory Striders" are being used to push a hole through the Helldiver line. Focusing their entire effort towards a single planet, the bot offensive on Marfark is sure to be fierce, and our forces will no doubt struggle to hold this critical planet positioned on the flank of our defensive line. The enemy must not be allowed to gain any momentum - this offensive must be arrested, whatever the cost.

Oooo I wonder if we'll get to see these more often now. I still haven't seen one!

I hear they can be found as targets in lvl 4 to 6 missions. I have not independently confirmed this.

Nice I was hoping to see them as objectives. I wonder if they side objectives on level 7 and up.

Again, not independently confirmed, but they should be air dropped during bot drops.

Oh damn, that's gonna be rough. I thought they were a special objective. Didn't realize they can just drop on you randomly!

My first lvl 7 mission in the new patch and I land next to a Factory Strider.

I saw a couple tonight playing on level 7 and 9. Those things are a bitch to kill!

Just did a rank 4 mission that had one. They are most certainly more common now. Even have their own elimination mission.

Did it spawn or was it an elimination mission? 4 is my chill level and I might shit myself if I see one I wasn't expecting

[–] newthrowaway20 2 points 7 months ago

It was an elimination mission

I did some 7s earlier and these marfarkers (pardon the pun) showed up two times, once even two at the same time. Very big, very tanky, a lot of bullets flying your way. One of them tanked a full laser and two eagle airstrikes and was still fine. Bile titans are easy going in comparison.

Bruh I’ve been playing helldive and they’re all over the place

[–] [email protected] 1 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I usually run into one or two per session now. They're really cool to fight! They feel dangerous and hard to kill. I like em!

I’ve found the walking barrage is pretty reliable surprisingly. You can also two shot them with a quasar or eat by hitting the emblems on the sides.

Slightly unrelated, but I sometimes see players program beacons while moving, which as a PC player isnt possible by default. Is this a controller only feature when they can run with a stick and type the beacon code with the cross buttons?

I would really like to be able to run away from shit while typing out an eagle strike but can't see how that would work on PC.

Have you tried to bind the stratagem keys to your arrow keys?

I have a 12-thumb-button MMO mouse. My strategem keys are 8,10,11,12 for up, left, down, right respectively. Works great.

As a controller player, I do this. I move with my thumb on the analog stick and my index finger hitting the d pad with my middle finger holding the L1 button to trigger the stratagem menu.
