Remember, McDonalds is a real estate business first and foremost. Unfortunately they’ll be around until the end of time.

A good way to not deal with this is stop eating their shit food.

I've stepped into a McDonald's less than 10 times in my life.

In what way is McDonalds a real estate business? Asking out of curiosity.

[–] Nouveau_Burnswick 5 points 1 year ago

Short answer, they have about $50Bn in reality assets, and rent them to the franchisees.

Food Theory did an episode that covers exactly this.

TL:DW McDonalds owns the land and the franchise owner pays rent.

Where I live they only serve pedestrians, it was always like that, for years, because there's just no space, it's all a walking city. They are still packed with people each day, straight from 7 AM there are dozens of people ordering there.

avg drive through is like 6-10 cars before nobody can enter line, just keep that in mind when you see a lunch rush at a place where hundreds of people are in 5 min walking distance from work or home.

How will they stay in business with only the hundreds of pedestrians for customers???
