Love seeing devs use their own engine. It's been sad to watch Unity's self inflicted downfall and Unreal's total domination in the past few years.

The only silver lining I'm seeing in current trends is that the open source engine, Godot, is becoming more competitive/viable all the time.

If Dragon Studio can only use the Dragon Engine at that time, we may no longer be able to compete in this world.

Why would they shackle themselves like this?

I mean I can't recall ever hearing any negative feedback about the Dragon Engine. I think most people are satisfied with the quality of the 7 or so games they've put out using it.

Apparently people said the fighting felt bad during it's premiere, but I reckon that's probably improved given how popular the Judgement games are.
