A nice piece summing up the banking challenges of Scotland. Given the strength of no in 2014 was in no small part related to bankers around Edinburgh, this could well see a shift long term away from the UK. It also serves to illustrate Scotland’s biggest unanswered question with independence: what currency would we use?

It's yet another thing that sounds local but in reality isn't. Money in the modern age requires no fixed abode.

I say yhat as someone who while not in the financial sector works in the world that permits it to work from wherever the reality is if it isn't a thing you need to hold on to it can be run from a vm hosted semi locally and managed from litraly anywhere in the globe.

This is why plaque be embra was not a compelling argument for me back then
