!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

I used Relay for reddit and would like a app that works similarly.

Currently I use Connect for Lemmy, but there are a few things missing.

A big one for me is a button to hide all post I have interacted with (clicked the picture, up/down voted, read comments etc.)

Also it should change the text color if I clicked the link not just read the comments.

I use list mode, in Relay there is a easy access switch that lets you change the picture side (onthe right or on the lwft) on the fly.

There really are quite a few apps due to the recent popularity, many are new and/or still in development. So pointing you towards an app that has that feature is tricky. Here is a list of what I'm aware on Android. I would suggest finding a few you like the look of, and then asking for such a feature?

Thunder for Lemmy: https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder

Liftoff: https://github.com/liftoff-app/liftoff/

Jerboa: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jerboa

Summit: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.idunnololz.summit

Connect for Lemmy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kuroneko.lemmy_connect

Boost for Lemmy: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rubenmayayo.lemmy - (Upcoming)

Sync for Lemmy: https://syncapps.io/ - (Upcoming)

Thanks I tried a lot in there now and kinda love Thinder now. Just still need the hide viewed/read post's button.

I don't think there is one. But as a Relay user, Liftoff is the only third-party Lemmy app I have no problem using at all.

Thanks, it's already more intuitive coming from relay. The interactions are quite similar and I can colapse comments just by tapping it or get out of pictures by swiping them wich Connect does not. I already feel more at home. Just need the hide previously viewed/interacted posts button.

I will try that, thanks. I hope DBrady gets on making an app for lemmy. I would gladly pay him again.

I don't think dbrady is making one for Lemmy because he's one of the few who are staying with Reddit.

I'm excited that the devs for Boost and Sync are coming over. That's as close to Relay as it's possibly going to get.

Another former Relay user here. I am using mostly WefWef on my phone. It's not perfect, in many ways but it feels pretty good all around. If that's not working or something else is going on I typically look at Jerboa, Connect, Thunder, then Summit. In that order. I just don't know what to do otherwise.

There is nothing to really fill the gap left by Relay, not yet, but I'm finding WefWef to have most of the features that I am looking for and to be the most stable and usable.

If you don’t find an app you like there are some PWAs out there that are good. Like http://vger.app (formerly known as wefwef.app) that’s really nice and gets a lot of updates. Its interface does look a bit like iPhone but he is working on a layout for android devices.

I tried pretty much all of the Android clients / webapps. Connect is currently the one that is the most like Relay (favorite lists, community tab, general UI) but still missing key components. As a former Relay user, I feel you.
