I was just talking to a friend who said he hasn't seen Shang-Chi yet and I was stunned. After cajoling him to watch it, decided to do (yet another) rewatch myself. I love that movie.

Shang-Chi is such a good movie. Awkwafina is basically Asian Natasha Lyonne, and I'm totally here for it.
That's one of the things I told my friend is that I was so pleasantly surprised by what they did with Awkwafina. Katie was a much better character than I expected.
I was ambivalent about it. I liked everything about it but the story. The characters were great. The acting was great. Some of the fight scenes were great. The main plot was just dumb and I found myself not caring about any of the stuff I was supposed to care about.
I feel alone in liking the Marvels as much as I did. The ending fell a little flat and the villain was kinda boring, but I loved the fight scenes, the synergy of the 3 heroes was really cool including the way they used the teleports, the comedic relief was on point, and they made an all girl movie not feel like it was ham fisted together by the Hulk.
It had it's share of problems, but I really enjoyed it. The teleportation training montage was great.
My favorite part was the flerkin escape at the end. It seems like every marvel plot lately has been resolved with a big fight scene and/or with the hero and villain firing different colored laser beams at each other and grunting aggressively. I loved that they solved the problem with some lateral thinking. It was also a hilarious set piece.
I really like most of the sections individually. I felt that the transitions from one to another was a bit disjointed. But overall I really liked it.
Not watching, but those spider-man games are pretty sick. Almost as good as the spider-man 2 game from the 2000's.
I just finished Spider-Man 2 this weekend and Miles Morales before that. I love how fun they are and how great their stories are. It's just so easy to pick up and play.
I put She-Hulk on as a background show since I've already seen it. I really love this show. I'm cracking up every episode. I may have made a bad choice for background.
I spaced out that there was a second season of Wha If.. released, I’m really digging the vibe on it this year, some great episodes in there!
I rewatched Iron Man 2 recently just for Sam Rockwell. I really hope he returns someday.
X-Men 97 is going to be odd, just 90s cartoons in 2024. I'll watch it, I'm glad they're making it, but it'll be weird, but I expect to enjoy it.
I'm ok with the current slow down of Marvel stuff, I've tried to go back and watch older cartoons but none of them really work for me. As a result I've been watching older DC cartoons (Justice League, etc) but also the newer Tomorrowverse stuff.
If folks have Marvel animated recommendations I'd be in.
Over winter, I went back to Iron Man 1 and watched the entire catalog (including AoS, Agent Carter, and the D+ shows).
Which one am I enjoying? All of them :)
You did ALL of it over winter? I haven't even seen most of the final Netflix seasons. I haven't even touched thr Runaways or the second seasons of Cloak and Dagger or Agent Carter.
I LOVE AoS though. It's one of my favorite shows along with Legion. I haven't gone back for a rewatch since I finished it though. Did you watch The Winter Soldier before Turn, Turn, Turn?
You did ALL of it over winter?
I did! Basically kept something on the background while I was puttering around the house. I am not a cold weather person and turn into a hermit once the outside temps are below 50 degrees haha.
Did you watch The Winter Soldier before Turn, Turn, Turn?
In the original airing, yes. On my rewatch, no.
