And again I find myself wondering by what purported authority it is that Israel "approves" the construction of settlements on someone else's land.

That'd be like reading that the Mexican government had "approved" the construction of Mexican settlements in Texas.

Fuck, I welcome them with open arms. Every immigrant, migrant, or "illegal" resident I've met has been magnitudes better than most every selfish conservative person continuing to ruin my ability to enjoy Texas. My family has been here for 3 generations and we do not recognize this state anymore.

The difference is that Mexican immigrants in the US aren’t trying to genocide existing residents and steal the entirety of their land. They just want to have a good life and coexist. That isn’t enough for Zionists though.

No, but that does describe how Americans treated Native Americans - they genocided them and stole their land.

It's no surprise then that the United States supports Israel doing the same in Palestine. The West has a long history of unrepentant colonialism - Israel is just a continuation of that legacy

the construction of settlements on someone else's land.

That's what the entirety of the State of Israel is: settlements on someone else's land.

It's also what the countries comprising the "New World" are as well, of course - from the Americas to Oceania. But it also describes Israel, and their colonization is ongoing today.

What else to expect from a Colonialist Settler Nation ? A colonialist power that has been given nuclear weapons by another colonialist power, to make sure that the colonialist project never dies, yet that have no shame in declaring themselves the inventors of the human rights principals and "Universalism".

Are you talking about Israel or the United States?

Not to disagree with your point, Zionism should be opposed. But we shouldn't pretend the United States is any better

The United States could be better though. And we could start by opposing colonial states such as Israel

I was Talking about France, it's France that did give the nuclear technology to Israel to develop their own bombs.

Better than getting it from Nazi Germans

It's better now, native Americans in the u.s. are allowed to freely travel and settle in the country and can easily gain citizenship and vote if they want to. If Israel allowed Palestinians to do that instead of keeping them in an open air prison this conflict would be over by now.

In the past though all bets were off though and the u.s. repeatedly committed ethnic cleansing and genocide. Even then though they were still allowed to come and go into the u.s., seek citizenship and even buy their stolen land back if they could afford it, as unfair as that is. That's because the reason for removing the natives wasn't "we need to change the demographics of this place so we can have a democratic ethno-state" it was "we want there land so we can, or our slaves can farm on it".

The UN says at least 413 Palestinians - members of armed groups, attackers and civilians - have been killed in conflict-related incidents in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, or in Israel since October.

Fifteen Israelis, including four security forces personnel, have also been killed.

At least 413 Palestinians killed in the same way that I had at least one spoonful of ice cream last night

[–] RisingSwell 1 points 9 months ago

Jesus dude how many tubs of ice cream did you eat last night?

And in the process they will build even more checkpoints and restrict even further the free movement of Palestinians.

Sometimes I really wonder if Israel isn't running some cruel experiment on Palestinians how much abuse they can tolerate.

Not to mention how cynical all this is especially now. Great peacekeeping job!
