Adding to that: Even being raised bilingual just means I can forget words in two languages simultaneously.

I had a job interview once upon a time which went very well. As the interview was ending, I was asked one final question: “tell me about a good book you read recently” which was probably one of those weird symbolic questions designed to allow the company to infer ridiculous things about you from your answer.

Anyway I had recently read “Great Expectations” by Charles Dickens. However, for no reason at all, I suddenly could not recall the title of the book, nor the name of the author. I ended up calling it things like “that one classic by that famous author” and was too flustered over this to adequately describe the story. I did not get the job. (Probably dodged a bullet anyway).

I have had one formal job interview in my life and it went just as well. All the jobs I did actually get didn't require an interview at all.

What I want to say is: I feel you, and I dread the day that I have to get through that again.

I've been doing this a lot lately. When I was younger I had a great vocabulary. I still do, somewhere in there. I keep describing things to my spouse like, "it was very... You know, impulsive, but describing an event." And she'll be like "spontaneous?" And I'll be like "uhuh." I don't know what's going on with my brain anymore.

God. This is true. Thankfully my best mates have ADHD too, so we get this game.
