Scrap elected boards of education. Adopt a centralized, independently regulated department for education. School policies and curriculums should not function as political playgrounds.

Also, adopt hate speech laws.

Who would control the department of education? What would you do to safeguard against institutionalized transphobia aside from not having elected boards?

Would you put intentional misgendering into the hate speech laws or just things like slurs

I would make it illegal to discriminate against people on the basis of gender identity.

Still not a law where I'm from.

In addition to anti discrimination laws the big one for me would be universal healthcare, with no prior authorizations but a team that goes in after the fact and follows up with doctors on occasion to prevent fraud. It would be amazing to no longer have to worry about death panels preventing access to the one medication that keeps me from killing myself, my testosterone. And it'll help everyone else too.

I also wish they'd put testosterone down a schedule or two on the drug charts so it's easier to access. If bodybuilders wanna abuse it that's on them.
