The saturation is cranked to hell. I love the photo otherwise but the sky is not that deep blue at that elevation.

Is it unrealistic to allow only unedited images in the competition?

Saturation and exposure isnt really "editing", because all photos must be developed from the raw data. Most of the time your camera develops it automatically (and often get things slightly wrong), and many people like to develop raw photos themselves vith apps like snapseed.

Oversaturated photos should be considered flawed, but not disqualified.

Imo.

I agree, if we start getting too particular we are drifting over into c/photography's realm.

I agree, it would be impossible to enforce any rules on color adjustment in a fair way. There's a lot of variability in terms of what is captured in camera as well as subjectivity in terms of what is most faithful to the actual subject even if the intention is to be 100% realistic, which is not always the case.

Excellent framing here. I love how the sunbeam bleeds into the clouds towards the right, so close to one of the mountain's peaks.

ooh, there's a competition! super cool!

any additional rules for this, like marking the title with [OC]?

also please link to the original post in case the OP added some extra details.

That is a good idea on marking the images. Will make my life easier when sorting for the image on Friday. I sort by Top Week to find the highest upvoted one.

The original post with the photo is linked in the body of the pinned post.

Congrats to the winner of Week #1.

Will @[email protected] be saving all of these for an end of the year best of the best battle?

[–] Alchemy 4 points 1 year ago

That's a good idea. Yes, I will be saving them all and doing an end of year favorite.

I love going up to Rocky Mountain/Estes Park, never seen so many elk or goats before going up there
