My husband, an introvert with autism, wanted to chime in and say that he needs some alone time with his special interest (either baseball cards or geography/maps) to fully recharge.

Another thing that helps me is taking a shower. Simple yet effective.

Playing games with a few close friends, that or programming

[โ€“] ickplant 3 points 1 year ago

I'm not a programmer, but I've taken beginner classes. I have definitely felt very Zen when I reached a state of flow doing homework with very basic programming.

Rimworld, honestly. The game is engaging enough to catch my attention in short bursts but slow enough that it isn't overwhelming when winding down.

I've never played it, what is it about?

Isn't being around people a horror movie in itself... Lol

For me it's browsing the web, and reading the news

Ohh depends on my mood.

Low effort: Futurama on shuffle.

Energy but I'm over people: single player RPG

Insomniac: write some code.

Unfortunately most of the time I just end up doing head of household chores until I pass out from the misery.

Futurama is the best show to zone out to after youโ€™ve watched it a few times.

For me nature. I love being surrounded by nature. Sometimes I just chill on a bench with a coffe or listen to a podcast in a park, while watching the clouds pass by or watching people walk their dogs.

It sounds boring, but really helps to focus my thoughts again.

I don't think that's boring at all! Nature has a hugely calming effect on me.
